We are overwhelmed by your kindness and generous offers of support. We have a lot to figure out in the days and weeks ahead, but above all, we are feeling incredibly lucky that it was not worse. In response to the many questions we have received, the cause of the fire is under investigation but at this time there is no foul play suspected; we believe it was accidental. We lost our chickens but no other animals were harmed. We do not yet know if, when, or how we might rebuild. Our barn is gone. The Barn Slide is gone. But we will be okay; we have insurance, and the damage was limited. The Corner Market will open at the end of April, and the Fall Festival will go on. We look forward to seeing you soon! In the meantime, if you find yourself moved to give, please donate to one of the countless families that lost everything and do not have insurance coverage to rebuild, in Asheville and L.A. and Gaza and beyond. Or support one of the many organizations working to put out the metaphorical fires currently threatening our democracy. Thank you again for your support. [IMAGE: This is what's left of our barn and the barn slide. There are a few charred wooden beams that remain upright. The final green and blue sections of our big slide are intact, but the rest of the slide is gone. The metal gate to Leona's pen is visible to the left of the slide. Beyond the slide is a smoldering, smoking pile of debris, mostly metal roofing and the charred wooden beams. In the background are some trees and a gray sky.] ... See MoreSee Less

This message was everything. You guys deserve all the success and support ❤️
Wow. Seeing it all gone is very heartbreaking. Surprised that one slide sort of survived. My heart goes out to you. ❤
Not the barn with the slide😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Don't mean to say that's it's wonderful to read of the fire, but it is wonderful to see people who recognize that there are others in more difficult positions. Not a lot of empathy being shown elsewhere on Facebook.
Cox Farms VA Class act thinking of others in need even during your time of sadness. The best memories for our family and countless other families at your farm. Cox Farms forever!
Even in your own tragedy, you remember others who are downtrodden or less fortunate! Thanks for your humanity. We will continue to support you for years to come!
I wish I could bottle this empathy and give a dose to everyone who seems to be lacking it. Thank you for always being a class act.
Are you going to be able to rebuild the barn?
You guys are amazing! Thank you for being such beautiful humans. We will always support you!
Our family loves Cox Farms and we are so sorry to hear about this loss. We're grateful that it wasn't worse and that no other animals were harmed. ❤️
Karma is a b8tch. Sorry for the chicken, though, they are the only living beings on the farm with a soul. I look forward to donating to the IDF, or displaced families in northern ISRAEL, to help combat your jew hatred.
So sorry for this loss and glad you recognize those in more need. But no need to be political. Democracy is not being threatened— over half the country voted for the current leadership. Inciting unfounded fear or statements is truly unnecessary with the real tragedies occurring.
Cox Farms VA is a class act always. Even in your time of sadness, you’re thinking of others. Thank you so much for being what this country is worth fighting for. ❤️❤️❤️
You are incredible and always thinking of others. We will definitely pay it forward and will always support you.
I grew up loving my time spent at Cox Farms, it was an annual tradition. A few years ago I moved to the Asheville area- thank you from the WNC area for remembering us ❤️
Thinking of you as you rebuild. Just donated to Hostage & Missing Families Forum on behalf of Cox Farms. 💙 #BringThemHomeNow
This is just one reason we love you. You all are so selfless and so caring and thoughtful towards others. All your board messages spread so much love. ❤️
The World needs more Unselfish people like you and your family. I will pay it forward.🥰
What a wonderful post.
Thank you for always thinking of others and always supporting those in need.
My kids loved the barn and slide but, they loved everything else too so it’s not like we aren’t going this year. My youngest will be walking and be able to actually enjoy more this fall so I’m looking forward to that.
Very happy to know you will be fine, and to see you encourage people to give to others who really need the help right now. You guys are amazing!
How can we not love cox farm and support it! This post is everything!!! 🤍🖤❤️💚
Even though you all have endured a terrible loss you continue to show your love for humanity and those in need. Your ability to be selfless and positive even in the face of tragedy is an example for us all to follow. Thank you for always being the voice of compassion and peace.🙏🏼❤️
This post is exactly what cox farms is all about ❤️my son loves working for this fantastic family

Our beloved barn burned down this morning. The farm caretaker Sam was already up and called it in quickly, and we are thankful for the strong and skilled response of both Loudoun and Fairfax Fire departments. Because of their efforts, the blaze was contained and the damage was limited to the barn itself. We lost about a dozen chickens, a tractor, and, of course, one of our most popular slides, along with the iconic sunflower and other art that decorated the barn. Fortunately, everyone's favorite mama pig Leona only lives at the barn during the fall season, so she was not impacted. Long before it was home to a giant beanstalk, a half-pipe water slide, and the world's cutest piglets, it was a dairy barn. Built approximately 100 years ago, it was already old when we moved to the farm in 1979, but it served us well, and it has been a sturdy (and beautiful) backdrop for decades. Our landscape won't be the same without it. But mostly, we are so glad that the damage was contained, and our homes and our people are all safe. Any idea what caused the fire?
I am so sorry to read this, and sending love for the lost chickens and your equipment that helps make the farm such a magical place. I loved that barn, it reminded me of my childhood barn, that coincidentally was also lost in a fire… it was the first “big slide” my children would go down, and they always loved naming all the breeds of chickens while waiting in line. I know Cox Farms is resilient, and will rise from these ashes like a phoenix. I’m so sorry to read this news.
Glad everyone is safe. So sorry this happened to you 💔
Oh no! We are here to support you!
i’m so sorry, the hits just keep coming trying to break our hearts. I’m thankful all of you are safe and the fire department was there to stop it from spreading

I LOVE and APPRECIATE EVERYTHING Cox Farms stands for. Thank you!
And this is why Cox Farms VA will always get my $$$ and my support!!!
Where's the gofundme, I'll contribute to a bigger sign!
Wow, one of the best farms in Loudoun County burning their own bridges absolutely amazing they are looking to lose most of their business. Wow absolutely wow I’ve never seen a business publicly. Try to humiliate and create disturbance and their own County good job Cox farm.
I am still in shock But there are good people with a conscience They just need to organize and become a force for real American values We will rise again
We are from New Jersey and like to stop by Cox Farm when we visit our daughter and her family in Chantilly. We love your signs and appreciate your messages!
I love you guys. Thank you for being on the correct side of history! 💙
Since I don’t get to drive by your place, “Honk, Honk”
Cox Farms VA I tell everyone that asks me about why I haul a huge group of our friends (we roll 20 deep some years!) out for Field of Fear, instead of to the (and trust me when I say this) FAR more conveniently located Maryland option near our house. This is why. The haters in these comments are new here, ignore them. I and many have watched you use your signs/visibility/platform in the middle of a fairly red area of Virginia to be a community lighthouse and a reminder to the scared, hidden, closeted, abused, and wronged, that they had someone in their corner. A big someone, a someone who would speak. Because we need more of this, more bravery from those with safer platforms. More allies being obnoxious and big and vocal, so that those who have to be quiet know when and where they can be safe. Thank you, Cox Farms <3 For being loud and visible and an example, even now. Especially now.
Get through what? Peace in the world, prosperity for everyone, people from other countries who want to call the United States their home vetted to keep our country secure? This is what we all will be finally “getting through.” And thank God for this!
Love Cox Farms now and always, and desperately need inspiration during these dark and challenging times. It was be a tough 4 years, but there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, just like a good hayride!!!
You are something special. Thank you! Keep it coming, you're doing more good than you can know.
And this is why we love Cox Farms. Might have to take the long way to work tomorrow so I can drive by and see the sign.
These signs made me smile and I really, really needed that!
Do I spy 508 compliance?!? Love it

I’ve been to Cox Farms the past three years for a Fall day with friends. I’ve never paid attention to the signs. 😂 This is fabulous! Thank you!
